Reflection on the First Peoples Principles of Learning

I see the First Peoples Principles of Learning as a framework that can be used by all educators to work towards the TRC’s 62nd (iii) call to action to “utilize Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods in classrooms.” However, I recognize that attaching a FPPoL to a lesson is not enough for working towards reconciliation. It is only a piece that goes alongside reflecting upon your own positionality, while simultaneously incorporating Indigenous pedagogical methods and content in a genuine and respectful way. I look forward to being able to work towards this goal alongside my coworkers, students and community more broadly. Link to the First Peoples Principles of Learning
